Fred Ernst
Founder
With over 25 years experience in the appraisal management industry and a background in professional sports, Fred brings his energy and leadership to IVG where he shares his passion for serving others. Starting as an entry level clerk for an independent appraisal company to becoming Managing Director of a Fortune 500 organization, Fred has worked in every role of the appraisal management industry prior to co-founding IVG in 2010. Leveraging his experience and passion for always improving, Fred is laser focused on leading IVG towards its goal of becoming our client’s most trusted and respected business partner.
Fred loves living in beautiful San Diego with his two children and enjoys motorcycle riding, golf and martial arts in his free time.

Doug Thacker
Founder
Doug began his career as an appraiser in 1988 and quickly worked up through roles including appraisal reviewer, Chief Appraiser, COO, and EVP of Product Development at Hansen Quality. He led the group that developed one of the first automated valuation models and, after that, an industry leading automated collateral risk product. Hansen was ultimately acquired by Fidelity and during his tenure as EVP there, Doug led the team to develop industry-leading AVM’s, collateral risk products, and desktop valuations; all of which are still in use today. Doug co-founded IVG in 2010 and his nearly 35 years of industry innovation and leadership continues to inspire the teams at IVG to lead the way as providers of first-class client service and cutting edge contributors to the industry at-large.
Doug enjoys traveling with his wife Kim, playing golf with his sons and friends, and boating and going to the beach with his four grandkids.

Chris Hunt
Chief Operating Officer
As IVG’s COO, Chris leads all aspects of the Appraisal Management business. While working on maintaining and improving IVG's industry leading AMC performance and service, Chris also works alongside IVG's IT and Data team to help automate processes, refine and create new operational reporting dashboards, and leads IVG’s business intelligence and performance management initiatives.
Chris is passionate about appraisal modernization and is excited to help advance the appraisal industry through partnerships with key stakeholders and industry players alike. With a decade of field experience and over 10 years with the GSEs and the industry's top Appraisal Management Companies, Chris has had direct involvement with many of today's most widely used technology tools aiming to improve the appraisal industry every step of the way. Chris and his wife Holly live in Rocklin, CA with their two daughters and enjoy everything Northern California has to offer.

Keri Borowski
Chief Compliance Officer, Director of Business Development
Keri Borowski is IVG’s Chief Compliance Officer and Director of Business Development. Keri harnesses 23 years of industry experience in the field as well as with GSEs and the industry’s top AMC’s to keep IVG informed of emerging agency regulatory requirements as well as changes in client requirements, and ensures compliance with these policies. She also spearheads IVG’s sales and marketing efforts. Keri is passionate about leading, serving, and sharing her “Aloha Spirit!” and her philosophy is simple: “Always Can!”
Keri is from the Big Island of Hawaii but currently makes her home on a horse farm in Arizona. She spends her free time traveling with her daughter on the rodeo circuit.

Sean Brooks
Chief Information Officer
Sean Brooks is in charge of International Valuation Group's Information Technology group. Sean is an old-school technology enthusiast who has been working with computers since 1981, the year the first IBM P.C. was released. He has been in the I.T. industry specializing in financial services since 1996. At the age of 11, Sean entered his first program ever and quickly learned an important lesson of computing when everything he typed was forgotten and erased by the Sinclair 1000 machine he started on: “Always hit ENTER after typing in a line of code.”
Sean has watched the progression of technology in the business world since the beginning and understands the challenges that modernizing business processes can bring. He is now living “the dirt life” with his wife in the Sonoran desert spending much of his weekends off road, exploring the isolation of the South-West U.S.

Bruce Brown
Vice President of Collateral Risk
Bruce manages IVG's appraisal team responsible for hybrid valuations, collateral review and reconciliation products. Setting the highest standard for providing quality custom products and personal service to meet the individual requirements of a diverse client base are the team's main goals.
Leveraging over 35 years of appraisal industry experience, Bruce also works closely with the IVG management team and business partners in the strategic development of new products designed to meet the demands of an ever changing real estate valuation industry. A San Diego native and SDSU alumni, Bruce and his family enjoy the Southern California lifestyle and have no plans to move anytime soon. Go Aztecs!

Jennifer Swain
Operations Specialist, HR/Accounting/Client Relations
Jennifer leads business functions across all operations platforms including human resource management, accounts payables/receivables, and client relation escalations. Jennifer also spearheads process improvements that refine all operational and compliance needs for IVG and works alongside IVG's management team to create alignment throughout the company.
Jennifer has been with IVG since 2010 and in the appraisal valuations industry for over 15 years. She has a BA in Public Administration and takes pride in applying skills learned within the appraisal industry as well as from her management days with Marriott International. Jen and her husband live in San Diego, CA with their two children and enjoy everything southern California has to offer from the beaches to the mountains.

Jennifer Whiteman
Client Services Manager
Jennifer joined the team at IVG in 2016 and brings nearly 10 years of client service experience to her role as IVG’s Client Services Manager. Jennifer works extremely closely with our amazing panel of appraisers across the country to ensure each and every order gets placed to the best possible product provider and that they are set up for success with the support and communication they need. Also very involved in direct client interaction, Jennifer spearheads all escalated and high profile assignments working in lock step with our clients and internal stakeholders to deliver exceptional service and performance.
Jennifer spends most of her non-working hours sitting courtside somewhere in Ohio watching her daughter’s volleyball practices or games at weekend indoor and sand-volleyball tournaments. In her spare time, she can be found having game nights and dinners with friends or family. Though she says that she “lives an extremely exciting life,” what is very true is that life keeps her very busy!

Mike Appel
Vendor Manager
Mike leads IVG's Vendor Management team with the goals of helping to build, expand, and get the most out of our panel of Real Estate professionals. This includes staff appraisers, non-staff appraisers, real estate agents, brokers, and property inspectors throughout the country. Mike is responsible for IVG's recruiting strategy, vendor performance coaching, vendor counseling, the on-boarding and off-boarding process for all vendors and creating and managing the absolute best in class vendor experience in the industry.
Mike has close to 20 years of experience working for some of the top Appraisal Management Companies in the country and has been with IVG for the last 9 years. Mike enjoys running, playing golf & basketball, and currently resides in the North Pacific Beach community of San Diego with his wife Mary and their daughter Ava.
